Can I Use Vitamin C Serums in the Morning?

Yes. Vitamin C serum is safe to be used day and/or night. When applied on the face in the morning, it works throughout the day to protect your skin against harmful elements like UV rays and free radicals that leave your skin looking dull. However, you should still use a good sunscreen in the day to protect your skin.

How Long Will It Take to See Results After Using Vitamin C Serum?

Results may vary depending on individual skin type and concerns, however, most people start to see improvements in their skin complexion within a few weeks of using the Vitamin C serum regularly and consistently.

Can I Use Vitamin C Serums With Other Skincare Products?

Generally, Vitamin C can be used with most skincare products. However, here are some ingredients we recommend not to use in conjunction with a Vitamin C serum:

  • Benzoyl Peroxide – Used to treat mild-moderate acne, can cause Vitamin C to oxidise, thus counteracting the effects
  • Retinol – Vitamin A, good anti-aging ingredient but combining with Vitamin C serum can cause peeling, redness and irritation

AHA/BHA – Chemical exfoliants that help with cell renewal, combining with Vitamin C serum can cause irritation

Can Vitamin C Serums Cause Sensitivity or Irritation?

Most people are able to use Vitamin C serums safely, however, some individuals may experience slight irritation or sensitivity especially if they have sensitive skin or have never used a Vitamin C product before. It is recommended to start with a lower concentration (10% Vitamin C) and to use 1 or 2 drops only, then gradually increase to a higher concentration (15% Vitamin C) to minimise the risk of irritation.

What Should I Look for When Choosing a Vitamin C Serum?

The best concentration for Vitamin C to be effective is between 10-20%. Look for a facial serum that is packaged in an opaque container as that helps protect the serum from light and air, which causes oxidation.

Which Vitamin C Serum Is Suitable For Me?
